History since graduation:

After graduation I realized I had to make a choice about where to attend college. My Dad (living then in California) shortened the decision as he offered to help me with the expense! Great motivation! So I packed my bags and hit Route 66 traveling WEST! There I toured 3 schools where I had been accepted and settled for California State University Long Beach.

Many important life events began my first semester there. I met my future husband in speech class. He was a junior physics major. The Lord used him and a campus ministry to open my heart and eyes to Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. Even though I had sought to follow my own plan for my life, I realized God had guided every step bringing me to this point of acknowledging His claim on me. Submitting to God’s plan and seeking to serve Him, Roy and I grew together. We married August 17, 1968. We had a wonderful 28 day camping honeymoon driving up the west coast into Canada. We returned to Long Beach in time to start the Fall semester – he as a grad student and teaching assistant and me as a junior. After training in Los Angeles, I worked as a student intern auditing with the lnternal Revenue Service until Roy was drafted into the army. The military sent him east for more training at Fort Belvoir, VA. I had only 5 classes to complete to graduate! I tested out of 3 of my classes right after that semester began so I could follow Roy to VA-back to near my old stomping ground!! We left Long Beach Feb 1969. I then completed my studies at the University of Maryland and my grades were sent back to Long Beach. So I was graduated from CSULB after 4 years with a B. S. in Business Administration with a specialty in Accounting. The military transferred us to Kansas and then to Colorado. After the military Roy got additional training in Pennsylvania. Over the next several years we were in Philadelphia and New Jersey. Roy had a variety of careers – from ministry, teaching, engineering research and design development, and technical safety equipment installation and maintenance. ln 1977 we settled in Tulsa. As a private pilot Roy has flown us to both coasts. Just after 9/11/2001 we traveled for 19 days in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. My professional credentials along with my accounting and tax service business grew as well as my family. Now after a full time career as an Enrolled Agent tax specialist, I am now scaling down to a slower pace to have more time for my family, entertaining, hobbies and church activities.

I never would have guessed when I graduated that I would end up in Oklahoma all these years. But we do like it here! Looking forward to the years ahead and what they might bring!
