Here are some of the photos from Elam and Janet Hertzler’s Galapagos trip at the end of October 2016 to celebrate Elam’s 90th birthday (Nov 9). They traveled through Quito Ecuador and said hi to our classmate Alicia Duran-Ballen Gheorghita, who lives there. (Alicia was an administrative assistant to her father, Sixto Duran-Ballen, who was Ecuador’s president 1992-96. You can see her in a couple of the photos toward the end of this page – wearing a red shirt. She currently runs a non-profit after-school program for economically disadvantaged kids.
